The Colours of His Palette

To mark the 200th anniversary of Robert Schumann's birth, the Festival is presenting three concerts on May 11th, May 13th and May 15th entitled Simply Schumann. This triptych of thematic evenings devoted to The Piano, The Violin and The Colours of His Palette features pianists Anton Kuerti in recital on May 11th, Ignat Solzhenitsyn (son of Russian author Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn) and violinist Ilya Kaler on May 13th and violist Marcus Thompson, cellist Denis Brott, Ignat Solzhenitsyn and Ilya Kaler on May 15th. The public is invited to pre-concert talks at 7 p.m. with musicologist Richard Turp. Admission to the talks is included in the price of the concert.
