Saturday May 17th Arcade Fire, Torngat and Snailhouse musicians form the pop/rock/indie quintet, Bell Orchestre. Bell Orchestre impacts the body and the emotions, evoking images, vast open spaces, movement and conflict, while retaining musical expression of a delicate intimacy and raw ferocity that is completely unique. It taps into the acoustic delicacy of chamber music, the urgency and volume of post punk and rock, and the intricacy of contemporary electronic music. The Bell Orchestre is made of strings, bells, horns, drums, stethoscopes, samples and quiet noise. Socalled, 2007 award winner of the Prix Étoile Galaxie at the Festival de musique émergente in Abitibi- Témiscamingue, will reunite lovers of urban music with its infusion of hip-hop, rap and electronic music.
